DS9 3.0 Issues

I got an email today from a user having trouble with IRAF and the new ds9 3.0 binary. It would seem that when using ds9 as a display client for IRAF, the display command would appear to function properly only that ds9 would show nothing but purple and not the image in question.
So, if anyone out there has gotten ds9 3.0 to work with IRAF on MacOS X, let me know. So far we’re 0 for 2. Both machines tested so far were running Panther, one with IRAF 2.12.1 and mine with IRAF 2.12.2.
