p>So, the feeling seems to be if we want to make our voices heard about IRAF support, we should move higher up the food chain than NOAO. It has been suggested that if you want to voice your opinion, the best thing to do is to contact the director of the NSF Astronomy Division, Wayne Van Citters, and ask that your views be sent along to the Senior Review panel, which you may have heard about, which is taking a look at NOAO in general.

p>Most people that email me seem resigned to changes to IRAF support, but I think it’s important we let the powers that be know how many IRAF users there are and how important we view this software to astronomical research.
