It's just a program. You download it from Harvard SAO (either the MacOS X version, or the "darwin" command line version) and then double click it or put it in your PATH and run it.</p> <p>Other external packages that run within IRAF, such as STSDAS or TABLESs are installed in /iraf/extern/ and defined in /iraf/iraf/unix/hlib/extern.pkg. Instructions are available either from the original authors of the external package, or using the installers available here in Downloads. Did you check the installer log (per the link on the post) to see what exactly went wrong?
