IRAF and More – For Mac Using Astronomers and Astrophysicists
So, I dropped the ball – the January 14 2008 critical update to IRAF? I never bothered to incorporated the updated binaries to my .pkg installer. I have done so now, and the installer for IRAF 2.14 on the download page contains the updated binaries.

Looks like NOAO is back on board with supporting/updating IRAF, after all the hooplah a few years ago. The next version of IRAF will be “official” from NOAO, not from iraf.net and will be supported by NOAO, it looks like. So, this is good news!

You really need 3 things to run IRAF: * Apple’s X11 (see the X11 tab at the top) * IRAF (from the download page) * X11IRAF (mainly xgterm, but this isn’t 100% necessary, just wise – also on the download page.)
